Birmingham, UK (4 October 2017) – Nottingham City Transport, the local authority-owned bus operator responsible for 50 million passenger journeys a year in Nottingham and the surrounding boroughs, has equipped more than 300 vehicles in its fleet with MiX Telematics Fleet Manager solution in order to enhance passenger comfort and safety while improving efficiency in operation. The system chosen by Nottingham includes the optional RIBAS in-cab driver feedback display and MyMiX, an online portal where drivers can monitor their performance and compare it to that of their colleagues, (see editor's note for more on RIBAS and MyMiX).
"Nottingham City Transport chose MiX Telematics as MiX provided the required features of both driver and vehicle performance monitoring, delivered by a team that is committed to work with us as long-term partners," says Gary Mason, Engineering Director for Nottingham City Transport. "The reporting system for driver performance is both comprehensive and easy to use, whilst the MyMix portal provides an excellent platform that enables the drivers to monitor themselves. The system is being used to improve driving style to give a smoother journey and an enhanced customer experience, whilst reducing claims and improving fuel consumption. Whilst it is still early days for our project, we are already seeing better fuel economy and we are confident that the longer term objectives will be achieved."
For MiX Telematics (Europe), Sales Director Richard Adams adds: "We are delighted that Nottingham City Transport, one of the UK's highest profile and most innovative bus operators, has chosen us as its telematics solution provider. We now look forward to working in partnership with the team at Nottingham City Transport to enhance the passenger experience by delivering the proven safety and efficiency benefits for which our Fleet Manager system is known and recognised the world over."
