In collaboration with New Zealand channel partner, Vehicle Technologies, MiX Telematics has secured a fleet management contract with the country’s largest operator of urban bus services – NZ Bus. The proven solution will be installed in a fleet of 1,100 buses, starting with 650. NZ Bus looks forward to exceptional vehicle and driver performance data, which will be used as part of their substantial and continuous improvement programme.
Prior to their commitment to implement a comprehensive fleet management solution, NZ Bus launched a new fleet in Wellington worth 8 million NZD. “This multi-million dollar investment demonstrates yet again our commitment to supporting our driver development, while delivering safe and reliable public transport services to New Zealanders,” said Mr Zane Fulljames, CEO NZ Bus.
NZ Bus is delighted to be partnering with Vehicle Technologies of New Zealand and MiX Telematics to deploy a vehicle and driver data capture system across the entire fleet. The system provides feedback to drivers in real-time about their driving style and engine data to fleet maintenance teams.
MiX Telematics has global experience in optimising reliability, safety and performance of bus and truck fleets.
“Vehicle Technologies and MiX Telematics have a demonstrated track record of providing effective fleet optimisation solutions and a clear appreciation for the values that drive NZ Bus,” concluded Mr. Fulljames.
Combined with the heavy focus on programs such as Pathway to Safer Driving and Safed this exciting new partnership will enable NZ Bus to continue to deliver on its promise to be the best in class in safety, driver performance, fleet management and customer service.
“NZ Bus joins our growing global bus and coach customer list – and being associated with the largest operator of urban bus services in New Zealand is testament to our leading position in the fleet telematics market. Working with Vehicle Technologies, we look forward to helping NZ Bus realise the many proven benefits our solution has to offer,” says Charles Tasker, Head of Fleet Telematics at MiX Telematics.
